Orthopaedic Department

Introduction

The Orthopedic is an active department of this hospital with a very busy turnover. Our main load of work is trauma, but we also do a considerable amount to elective surgery. We have three Consultants, three Registrars, two Residents and four orthopedic technicians in the department. The department is recognized by the Saudi Council for Health Specialist for training doctors in Orthopedic Surgery. We are recognized for training two trainees at advanced level and one at elementary level. The two advanced positions are in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Arthroscopic Surgery.
Contiunous Medical Education

The Orthopaedic department has a very active
Medical Education Progamme, which consists of the

The Orthopaedic Department organizes the
Southerne Region Orthopaedic Club on regular
basis. The club is representative of all ortho-
paedic Doctors working in the Southern Region.
The lastmeeting hosted by the Armed Forces
Hospital, Khamis Mushayt, Southern Region was June 2007.

Southern Region Orthopedic Club

Meeting is held every 3-6 months around various hospitals of the Southern region. It represents the whole of the South Regions, from Abha to Muhayel. The club works under the guidance of King Khalid University, Abha.
